Gaura (Oenothera) Passionate Blush

Gaura (Oenothera) lindheimeri = ‘Sme-2’

Gaura (Oenothera) Passionate Blush ‘Sme-2’ is the result of significant breeding improvements offering a dense, upright, erect habit that retains a neat appearance throughout the seasons. This compact perennial grows 18″ tall by 20″ wide with 1″ long leaves along red stems and reddish buds that open to a display of beautiful pink flowers. The prolific display of flowers are borne on shorter than usual stems and will add color to garden borders for an extensive season with main flushes during the warmer months and spot flowering during winter months.

‘Sme-2’ is the perfect selection for the traditional cottage style garden where it can casually intermingle with other frothing perennials in a border for that romantic ambiance often sought after. The dense, upright habit coupled with burgundy coloring in the new growth makes Passionate Blush ‘Sme-2’ a terrific specimen shrub as well as offering the potential for creating an eye-catching, informal hedge. It will perform well in the border and is also terrific in large size containers or tubs for inner-city gardens or paved areas.
